Safilo selects the participants of the first edition of its Product School to be opened on September 14th

Padua, 13 July 2015 – Today marks the definitive selection and confirmation of the final participants of the first edition of the Safilo Product School, which will open officially on September 14th.

The recruitment process, which began in February with over 200 candidates, led to the selection of nine young talents with differing backgrounds and origins (degrees in engineering, architecture, industrial design, arts), but who all share a passion and deep interest in eyewear. They will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and expand their educational expertise by learning on the job.
The three-year program, in line with the best practices of international apprenticeships, will see the participants follow the Safilo Product School’s training pathway, which explores the traditional craftsmanship and the specific know-how of the company in the world of eyewear, the knowledge of the moulds and shapes, and different materials. The Safilo Product School also devotes ample space to learning-by-doing, coupled with seminars hosted by managers and field experts at an international level, as well as regular classroom training and cross-disciplinary project work.

Marco Da Maren – Master’s Degree, Architecture at IUAV (Venice)
Daniele De Angelis – Bachelor’s Degree, Industrial Product Design at Politecnico (Milan)
Nicole Laffranchi – Master’s Degree, Design Management at Business School Il Sole24Ore (Milan)
Francesca Pansini – Master’s Degree, Marketing & Corporate Communication at University Aldo Moro (Bari)
Simone Petrolli – Master’s Degree, Materials Engineering at University of Trento
Marianna Quota – Master’s Degree, Architecture at University of Ferrara
Alessandra Salmistraro – 5 years at Safilo, currently Product MD Coordinator in S. Maria di Sala. Master’s Degree, Engineering Management at University of Padova
Simone Scorrano – Bachelor’s Degree, Industrial Product Design at University of Ferrara
Erika Zanchetta – Ph.D., Materials Engineering Research at University of Padova
